This Lilac was a very small plant when I brought it with me from a summer place years a ago. A pretty memory.

I'm waiting impatiently for the seed's of Canna I have planted in flowerpots to emerge. I have bought some pots with Canna plants too, to fill out the waiting time. While waiting I move around with my flowerpots on the terrace. I have been on a short holiday to Æbletoft, Jylland and in many gardens I saw deep dark purple Lilac, beautiful. My next wish for my garden.

I´ve been waiting for the seeds of Cannaes I sewed earlier this summer. I have looked in the flowerpots, nothing seems to happen, I have give up and emptied the pots. Fortunately I bought several plants of Canna and they are blooming now. They are marvellous. 12 may 2011: The winter protection of my Canna - I cut my Canna down-dug out the pulp, and put them in a bag with sawdust, they all withered, dried out I guess. Now I start all over again, with new ones.

To me an ideal garden must be full of life, flowers, birds, children, butterflies and buzzing bees.

This place on the terrace is where most of the summer time is spend, enjoying the surrounding flowers and the Ivy hedge. The Agapanthus is three years old and has bloomed with three tall flowers.

This Agapanthus has been kept in a frost free room during winter. I don´t know whether I during the winter sleeping time should give the plant a little water or not at all ?

This is the decorative corner where it is fun to move around with flowers. The hanging white flowers on the table are Bacoba´s.

This flower, also named eight o´clock seemed to have disappeared from the garden. Now it appears in many places. Like here on the picture in a corner of the stairs to the basement. It flowers at night fall around eight o´clock and it is fun to watch the flower open up the petals within half a minute.

This summer I have focused a lot on the terrace and the cannae´s has been the big hit for me. I have neglected the garden but now I have raked the lawn and covered the plants with the leaves. Several kinds of mushrooms has appeared, they look very decorative but I don´t know them, and for the sake of the children I have removed them. They might be poisonous.

My Imperial Lilies are the first tall flowers to bloom in my garden. I like them, the red beetles and the snails love them, they are having a party on the leaves.

Digitalis reseed itself, and here it has found a romantic place under a coniferous tree.

Søren's garden - Clematis vs. Iron Wall  Søren  Søren, Jun 19, 2010 10:30 AM. Permalink.

Judging by the size of the vines you must have a clematis that do not require to be cut back every year? What is the name of that clematis? The patio btw. looks very cosy! :)

The clematis is a clematis Montana "Superba" it says on the tag attached to the plant. The flowers are pink, and it seems to flower twice a summer. The plant grows lively with a lot of twigs and leaves so the twigs are slimmed often, but never cut back. On the tag it is advised (if you want to cut) do so in June after the flowering.
