Hi Anette - I envy that beautiful portal of greenery around your door! :) I'm a big fan of any kind of climbing greenery but unfortunately my own home facade is made up of large window segments that aren't fit for climbing.
Hi Søren If you want something to grow up next to / above the window, you may use wire. There must be a place you can screw a few oskner. A Wisteria or Clematis montana 'Tetra Rose' will probably do well. They are fast growing, very decorative and easy to keep.
Clematis Monotana is on my shopping list for next spring because I have a metal wall that I need to cover. Last spring I bought a Clematis Dorothy Walton to cover the wall but later I discovered it was a group 3 clematis that has to be cut back almost to the ground every year - so no cover for the wall in early spring. Montana as far as I know is group 1 and dosen't need to be cut back - but the Tetra Rose variant is pink isn't it? I think I'll go for a more masculine colour
Haven't considered Wisteria before - is that a fast climber too? I looks a bit tree-like on pictures I've seen.
Tetra Rose is very beautiful. Not pink-pink but pale pink/purple. But you can also get it in white. I have some pictures of it from my own and from my naighbors garden. I will find them. I think Tetra Rose will look fabolous next to the glass on your terrace.
Wisteriea is very fast climbing. Tree-like, maybe if it is very old. You can cut it as you like.
