I think my rose needs pruning. It was blooming the whole summer.

Our yellow beauty

Does smb. know when is it better to prune roses in containers - autumn or spring - so they are also blooming next year?

You do not prune roses before the frost.

When you are sure there will be no more frost in spring you prune your roses.

You can prune it a little or down to 25 - 30 centimetes. Depending on what kind of rose you have and depending on what you yourself want.

"Evelyn" grows very Quickly - but is pruned very little. Has hundreds of flowers every year

If it is a new rose from this summer you might not want to prune very much.

"Pat Austin" an Austin Rose that becomes a big bush in England but the frost in Denmark is hard on it
so I prune it very little - but it is still a " smaller" rose in my garden

But isn't it lovely?
