I just realised that I've been using the wrong type of mint plant in my Mojito drinks. A real bartender would have known to use Cuban Mint (aka. Apple Mint).
Cuban mint is supposed to be wooly but the two mints I grow don't fit that description. So what exactly am I growing?? Here are some pictures:

I'm pretty sure this one is a peppermint.
The peppermint is extremely fragrant and a clear favorite with the naborhood bees. It also makes a great Mojito.
And then I have this plain looking one. Its not as sweet as the peppermint - it's fragrance is more like a mix of menthol and stinging nettle. I haven't been able to identify it - can someone help me?

Please help identify this mint? |
